AI Singapore announces partnership with Element AI

Singapore, September 4th, 2018 / CNW/ – AISG announced today that we will join forces with Element AI, a global company that delivers cutting-edge AI software products at scale, to focus on local industry adoption of AI and accelerate product implementation in supply chain and finance industries. The MoU signing was witnessed by Mr Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Finance and Chairman of National Research Foundation and Her Excellency Lynn McDonald, Canadian High Commissioner at the opening of the innovation 4.0 building.

The partnership signals a continuation of the Element AI global expansion as it focuses on product implementation while also extending its collaborative, non-predatory model to the Singapore research community. As a new strategic partner of AISG, Element AI will help local enterprises discover and define the highest impact applications of AI in the areas of supply chain and financial services.

“Element AI is rapidly accelerating its product offering as industry races to adopt and implement artificial intelligence,” said Element AI CEO Jean-Francois Gagne. “Joining forces with AISG is a natural fit as Singapore looks to advance their Smart Nation initiative and Element AI expands its product offering in supply chain and finance. As this partnership will also be deeply rooted in research, it’s a great opportunity to expand our collaborative research model. Growing our presence in Singapore goes hand-in-hand with our efforts to foster innovation and achieve new research capabilities via local talent pools.”

As a national AI R&D programme, AISG brings together all Singapore-based research entities, AI startups and companies developing AI products to collaborate and grow AI knowledge, tools, and talent crucial to the development and deployment of AI products and smart digital technologies. This new relationship with Element AI will further strengthen this endeavour and boost AISG’s contribution to the Smart Nation initiative.

The collaboration is through AISG’s 100 Experiments programme where both will jointly develop innovative AI products and solutions for the local industry. As part of this collaboration, Element AI will co-locate part of its team with AI Singapore in the newly launched innovation 4.0 building at NUS.

“Together with Element AI, we are ready to seize new opportunities that will strengthen AI innovation in Singapore,” said Professor Ho Teck Hua, Executive Chairman of AI Singapore. “Investment in knowledge transfer and our local talent pool alongside Element AI will foster industry adoption efforts and help drive our Smart Nation initiatives forward.”
